Photographing Children "Jesse, his father, and grandfather"

This is Sergio Sr. Sergio Jr. and Jesse. Jesse is 6 but, going on 16. Working with children of that age is always difficult. Who wants to sit/stand still while someone takes pictures... BORING! I find that making it into a game, or asking for funny faces makes children more interested. I let him set the pace. You can't force a child to smile, or punish them for not smiling ( I have witnessed that in the past) trust me it doesn't work. In fact it only guarantees that next year when it's family portrait time, you will have a melt down on your hands. Bringing his/her favorite toy is a good idea too. You can offer to take a picture of it for him/her. I let Jesse stand where he wanted, pose like he wanted and posed the family around HIM. Another trick I use is letting the kids take a picture of his parents with my camera (camera strap ON, lol). They love that and it makes them feel more involved. Tim and Tammy

Last is Tim and Tammy's 25th anniversary party. What a blessing to be a part of this event. You could tell the guest genuinely loved and adored the couple and the feeling was obviously mutual. Tim and Tammy displayed just as much adoration for their friends and family. It is quite sad actually how I came to be there photographer. When planning there wedding 25 years ago, an awesome photographer was priority to the couple. They realized that your wedding photo's are one of the only things that will remain forever and capturing that special day with gorgeous photo's is an expense no bride ever regrets. The couple spent money on a very good photographer, and right before their wedding, the photographer canceled for another job! Needless to say there last minute hire didn't do them any justice and there wedding photo's were hidden away to be seen by few. Needless to say the couple jumped at the chance to get dressed up and have professional photo's taken. I onl

Latest Shoots

So, I have been a little behind on my postings lately. I have been focusing more on my website and getting it done. I wanted to post a few pics from my last couple of shoots though. I have been blessed to have an eventful month. First is a free shoot I did with some fellow photographer's Travis and Annie. What a cute couple, and adventurous too. I usually like to take a lot of risks during my sessions, sometimes hopping fences, or laying in abandoned tubs, lol so it really cool when I have clients who are up for anything.
