Paparazzi/Trash the Dress.... Prom Style!

So I know that Junior and senior prom is approaching and so much work goes into looking your best. I wanted to offer some sort of package to my teenage clients that will document them looking their best! So I came up with two ideas. One is a paparazzi package in which I take portraits before your prom with you, your date and your friends. (up to 12 people) On top of that (dependent on school rules) I will follow you around during and after prom capturing the entire evening on camera. You will have your own paparazzi! The photos will then be put into a a small book for each of your friends to keep forever. The cost would be $100 per person. (minimum 6 people).
The second is an editorial shoot. This is done after prom has come and gone and your stuck with this expensive dress you will never wear again. You and up to 5 of your friends will put back on those dresses and travel to an urban area for your very own trash the dress photo shoot. (we won't literally trash the dress, unless you want to). The options are endless from the beach, an abandoned barn, San Francisco, the forest etc. The magazine style photos will then be burned onto a high resolution CD for you and your friends to do what you want with! This package is $75.00 per person (minimum 4 girls). Hair and make up can be added for $60 a girl. For some ideas of what to do for your own shoot check out some of these links!

Photographing Children "Jesse, his father, and grandfather"

This is Sergio Sr. Sergio Jr. and Jesse. Jesse is 6 but, going on 16. Working with children of that age is always difficult. Who wants to sit/stand still while someone takes pictures... BORING! I find that making it into a game, or asking for funny faces makes children more interested. I let him set the pace. You can't force a child to smile, or punish them for not smiling ( I have witnessed that in the past) trust me it doesn't work. In fact it only guarantees that next year when it's family portrait time, you will have a melt down on your hands. Bringing his/her favorite toy is a good idea too. You can offer to take a picture of it for him/her. I let Jesse stand where he wanted, pose like he wanted and posed the family around HIM. Another trick I use is letting the kids take a picture of his parents with my camera (camera strap ON, lol). They love that and it makes them feel more involved. My rule is let the kid be a kid and your bound to get some great shots. Here are a

Reiff's Gas Station a bomb location for a bombshell

I thought I would get everyone's creative juices going with some  pics I found online of the location we will be doing our Bombshell Bash at.  These are some shots taken by other photographers at the Museum.  The cool diner, love the black and white tile.  Someone is getting on that horse!! See that plane coming out the roof? So cool. I am going to have fun playing with these different colors. My favorite of all, I think, the silver aluminum and the grass. I see someone wearing my apron and tutu gardening maybe? Hope you have been inspired. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :)
