The Stonerock's Clothing Ads~ A fun family portrait project

The Stonerock's family portraits were taken on location in a natural light setting (my fave!). Sarah and I went to High School together, back then she was just as stunning, Harry is her first child and such a character! As a mom I get so much joy watching first time parents. After I took these photos I thought to myself, wow this family could be models for a clothing line. So I decided to post some to my blog as clothing campaigns, just for fun. I also asked Sarah some questions that would be of benefit to local moms in the Fremont area. Here are her answers:

Where did you come up with the name Harry?
Harry was named after his great grandfather on Ian's side. Ian always wanted to name his son Harry in honor of his grandfather who died when he was relatively young.

Where do you like to take Harry for family fun?
I take Harry to the Always Dream park in Fremont, American swim academy, Gymboree, Santa Cruz beach boardwalk, and the beach.

How do you keep your sanity with a 2 year old?
I keep my sanity by practicing patience, being super active with Harry, having lots of play dates, and my husband is super amazing and helpful with Harry.

Any advice for woman juggling a career and motherhood?
Cherish each moment with your little one because you won't get these precious moments back. When I am loosing my patience and exhausted, I take a step back before reacting. Always have other moms who you can connect with and share common challenges of motherhood with. My family, friends, and faith have really made all the difference in my transition into motherhood.

Photographing Children "Jesse, his father, and grandfather"

This is Sergio Sr. Sergio Jr. and Jesse. Jesse is 6 but, going on 16. Working with children of that age is always difficult. Who wants to sit/stand still while someone takes pictures... BORING! I find that making it into a game, or asking for funny faces makes children more interested. I let him set the pace. You can't force a child to smile, or punish them for not smiling ( I have witnessed that in the past) trust me it doesn't work. In fact it only guarantees that next year when it's family portrait time, you will have a melt down on your hands. Bringing his/her favorite toy is a good idea too. You can offer to take a picture of it for him/her. I let Jesse stand where he wanted, pose like he wanted and posed the family around HIM. Another trick I use is letting the kids take a picture of his parents with my camera (camera strap ON, lol). They love that and it makes them feel more involved. My rule is let the kid be a kid and your bound to get some great shots. Here are a

Reiff's Gas Station a bomb location for a bombshell

I thought I would get everyone's creative juices going with some  pics I found online of the location we will be doing our Bombshell Bash at.  These are some shots taken by other photographers at the Museum.  The cool diner, love the black and white tile.  Someone is getting on that horse!! See that plane coming out the roof? So cool. I am going to have fun playing with these different colors. My favorite of all, I think, the silver aluminum and the grass. I see someone wearing my apron and tutu gardening maybe? Hope you have been inspired. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :)
