I have had the remarkable joy of capturing Bentley's life from the womb. He is now 6 months and couldn't be cuter. It is a challenge doing baby pictures. I always end up making some sort of fool out of myself in front of the moms. lol. I thought I would go over a few things for moms thinking of doing this type of session. Here are some pointers for making your session easy.
Don't fuss over clothes, you will find the portraits you love the most are the ones that are simple and uncomplicated. Nothing is cuter than a naked baby.
Schedule your session after a nap for those happy shots.
A good photographer will be flexible about breaks, in fact we prefer it. We want your baby to be happy and comfortable.
If you want to have those great straight into the camera shots, try to resist the temptation to call your babies name and try to try and make them laugh, unless the photographer asks you too. This will keep you from getting a bunch of photo where your baby is looking off to the side. Photographers that have been doing this a while are pretty good at getting babies attention and making them look straight into camera.
